Do you remember Yoshito from my last post about mother tongues? He's my fellow PEaCH Ambassador and a father who's raising trilingual (for now!) sons. We've recently talked about his family's multilingual journey and his methods of teaching children to read and write in several languages. I mentioned once that I'm afraid my daughter won't feel Polish. What can I do to prevent this? At the moment, first of all, pass on my mother tongue to her. But this doesn’t mean that Polish will occupy the same place in her hierarchy of languages. Monolingual people don't even think about it, but it's not that easy for someone who grew up with several languages.
